Dear friends and colleagues,

 

I am a passionate volunteer and have given a lot of my time as a docent to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the American Museum of Natural History, the United Nations, Bonnet House Museum and Gardens and Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. In 2003, I received the Presidential Point of Light Award for my service. 

 

I have been blessed to work with some amazing volunteers and management teams. As my final capstone project at Harvard, I designed a comprehensive Volunteer Manual Template that can be tailored for use by a variety of museums. The template was created after careful research into volunteer motivations. It is my hope that it helps managers with recruiting and retaining this crucial work force and that it inspires them to reward and recognize these stars in the museum world.
